1965 ford thunderbird 42711/22/2023 Ford also offered an engine reconditioning paint in black numbered EP-1724.ġ964-1965 CANADIAN-ASSEMBLED ENGINES LONG BLOCKS: Canadian-assembled engines starting in MY '63 (and possibly '62?) and continuing in '64 and '65 were painted Aluminum, Ford # M-2J-607, which appears to be brighter than Ford's Argent Silver (used for various components like pump-mounted power steering reservoirs on cars without air conditioning). There is also another Engine Black listed, Ford M-# M-2824, which should match the Ditzler number 9003, as well as Ford's EN-1724-C, which was introduced in 1957. In 1963 M4J-1611-A was introduced - this may have had a little more gloss to it. This was apparently used through at least MY 1962.
