It finds my network then a window pops up saying it will replace my base station (with a base station number) with the airport extreme. I tried replacing an existing device by selecting 'An airport base station'. I tried adding it to an existing network, but when it asks to pick a network to connect to it won't find my network my network is not blocked. I don't want to create a new network because I already have one. Here's what I tried: I went into Airport Utility and it wouldn't find the airport extreme. ![]() How do I use my airport extreme as a backup hard drive without it being a router? Also, how do I access my pictures from the airport extreme? When I try to backup my computer, it can't find my airport extreme. I just installed a new modem (Netgear CM700) and router (Orbi AC2200) and want to use my airport extreme as a backup drive, just like I did when it was used as my router. I previously had an Airport Extreme that I used as a router and for backing up my iMac, photos, etc.
